New York is one of the greatest cities in the world. It’s a cultural and financial center, it’s home to dozens of historic landmarks, it’s the most populous and the most densely populated city in the United States. It has made an indelible impact on popular culture, with 100s of movies set in the city, and dozens of songs that mention it – from Billie Holiday’s “Autumn In New York” to Billy Joel’s “New York State Of Mind” to Pet Shop Boys’ “New York City Boy”.
Manhattan, with 1.6 million people packed into only 33.5 square miles, is filled with high-rise apartment buildings. While urban living has its advantages, one of the sacrifices that apartment owners have to make, is a smaller kitchen than the typical private house. In addition, the centralized ventilation systems and code restrictions of most condominium and co-operative buildings preclude the installation of a range hood ducted to the outside, making kitchen ventilation a challenge.
To help solve both of these issues, Futuro Futuro offers a selection of slim range hoods designed for smaller kitchen environments and smaller cooktops, as well as including the option to have any range hood installed in “ductless” (also called “ventless” or “recirculating”) mode.
Ductless range hoods use an activated-charcoal cartridge to absorb the cooking odors, in addition to the grease-capturing metal filter. This way, even though the air isn’t extracted to the outside of the house, the grease and smells are removed, and the scrubbed air is returned to the kitchen.
There’s no special customization or additional hardware required to use any Futuro Futuro range hood in ductless mode. Simply select the model & size you prefer, as well as the “Carbon Filters” listed in the “Accessories” tab, and you’re good to go!
Of course, for the owners of larger apartments and private houses, we also feature a selection of range hoods in sizes from 24″ to a whopping 84″ width – there’s something in our catalog to fit any style & size of kitchen.
