As one of the most important appliances in the kitchen, the range hood removes airborne grease, smoke, steam, and odors during and after food preparation. For kitchen owners who require professional grade ventilation but desire a more minimalist design approach, Futuro Futuro offers “insert” or “under-cabinet” range hoods. These built-in range hoods are completely or partially concealed inside the cabinet, while still providing an effective ventilation performance. Futuro Futuro offers several models of concealed range hoods which are designed to effectively disappear inside a cabinet.
Our selection of recessed range hoods includes the “Insert-Liner” series, which offers the best of Italian craftsmanship and advanced ventilation technology in a compact, easy-to-install package. The Insert-Liner range hoods are essentially invisible to viewers, and include a wireless remote control for convenience.
The “Shade” line of kitchen range hoods is designed to easily install into cabinetry above the range and features a movable glass panel that helps to protect the cabinet from heat and moisture damage. Available in 36-inch and 48-versions, the “Shade” exhaust hoods are an economical ventilation solution for minimalist kitchen designs.
With many similarities between the Insert-Liner and Shade lines of ventilation hoods, making the right decision for your kitchen’s needs can be daunting. Below are the main differences between these two range hood models that may help guide your decision making process.
Insert-Liner is completely concealed inside the cabinet, and can even be recessed deeper than the bottom of the cabinet to help with capture performance. The Shade model is designed to be mounted to the bottom on the exterior of your cabinet, and features a movable glass panel designed to aid with capture performance as well as protect the front of your cabinet from heat and moisture damage.
The control panel on the Insert-Liner models is on the bottom of the unit, while the control panel of the Shade model is on the front of the unit.
The Shade model is available in 36 inch and 48 inch versions, designed to match the most common cooktop widths. The Insert-Liner series is slightly smaller and available in 22-inch, 32-inch, and 42-inch versions to fit snugly inside your cabinetry.
Futuro Futuro also offers a hybrid option which installs a regular wall mount range hood partially within your cabinetry. Most of Futuro Futuro’s wall range hoods with a flat, horizontal body can be easily installed underneath existing cabinets by concealing the blower and chimney inside the cabinet, allowing only the stylish horizontal hood body to be visible. Please note that wall range hoods with curved or asymmetrical body shapes may not be suitable for this type of installation.
Customers that live in areas that cannot accommodate outside ducting may consider installing a ductless range hood to remove airborne grease, smoke, and odors from the kitchen. Futuro Futuro’s exclusive recirculating range hood design contains dishwasher safe, metal filters that easily capture the grease and a carbon filter that traps odors, reintroducing only clean air back into to the kitchen.
While Futuro Futuro generally recommends installing recirculating range hoods in an island or wall range format, it’s possible to install a ductless range hood underneath existing cabintery, though some modifications would need to be made. If you are considering this option, please contact Futuro Futuro’s expert consultants, who can guide you through the options available to you.
Combining 30+ years of knowledgeable, Italian craftsmanship with the best available materials and cutting-edge technology, Futuro Futuro offers best-in-class kitchen ventilation solutions. All Futuro Futuro range hoods are crafted from the highest-grade AISI 304 stainless steel and are delivered pre-assembled and pre-wired, making them ready to install into any cabinet or custom hood enclosure.
