Island Range Hoods
ISLAND RANGE HOODS
Whether you’re planning a new home from scratch, or renovating an existing kitchen, a center island is a great idea that adds usable countertop space while keeping the room visually open. In addition, an island can feature built-in storage, additional seating, and other conveniences. It’s also easier to manage the "work triangle" (refrigerator - sink - cooktop) when an island is involved.
However, situating the range on an island presents a challenge for kitchen ventilation. Since it’s open on all sides, an island range is susceptible to cross-drafts which may carry the smoke/steam/grease out into the kitchen, and from there to the rest of the house. That’s why it’s very important to have an effective kitchen hood mounted over an island range. At the same time, many homeowners don’t want to block the view with a huge hunk of metal hanging in the middle of the room. So, what’s the solution?
Futuro Futuro offers over 100 models of stylish, effective, and beautifully crafted island range hoods. Designed and made in Italy, using only the highest quality materials, these kitchen vent hoods represent the best of the company’s 30+ years of experience in building kitchen ventilation solutions.
From the sleek tubular shape of the "Jupiter" series, to the curve of the "Acqualina", to the stunning glass effects of the "Murano Collection" hoods, Futuro Futuro offers the best of Italian design and craftsmanship, in a variety of styles and sizes to fit any cooktop or range.
But looks aren’t everything. All Futuro Futuro range hoods are equipped with a powerful and quiet blower, touch-sensitive electronic controls, and dishwasher-safe filters. The hood bodies are built from highest-grade AISI 304 stainless steel, which will never rust or change color, and the glass panels are tempered for durability and super-easy cleaning.
The tangential blower that powers our range hoods provides 4 selectable speeds, from 150 to 940 CFM, to accommodate a variety of cooking conditions. The blower is electronically controlled, and includes safety features such as thermo protection. In order to prevent negative-pressure problems, the blower will also automatically slow down to the 3rd speed after 15 minutes of operation at the highest speed.
(Note for residents of Toronto, Vancouver, Minnesota, and California: If your state, city, or building sets a CFM limit on kitchen range hoods, or requires a "Make-Up Air System" to compensate for the air extracted by the hood, we have the option of modifying any of our range hoods to accommodate either scenario (free of charge). Please feel free to contact us with the details of your situation, and our Technical Department will be glad to assist you.)
With the optional accessories, the capabilities of our range hoods can be extended even further. Got a tall ceiling? One of the Island Chimney Extensions will help you out. Want to put the blower in the attic? That’s what the Remote Blower Kit is for. Need to control the lights or the blower from across the room? Order the Wireless Remote Control Kit.

Unique Island Range Hoods
Our selection of unique island hoods includes the "Murano Collection" line, whose glass-wrapped bodies are illuminated from the inside. Blurring the line between appliance, light fixture, and art object, the "Murano Collection" range hoods offer design options far beyond what was previously possible.
Slim Island Range Hoods
For contemporary kitchens where looks are paramount, Futuro Futuro offers a selection of ultra-sleek range hoods. The "Jupiter" series is a 14" diameter tube, available in stainless steel and white.
For large cooktops or ranges, these units can be paired up to provide double the ventilation power. Optionally, a panel made from glass, metal, or other suitable material, can be manufactured by your local shop, to aid with capture performance as well as create a completely unique look.
Glass Range Hoods for Islands
Kitchen hood designs that feature glass remain popular choices for a variety of kitchens. Glass panels provide effective capture performance without blocking the view, and the interplay of glass vs stainless steel is an attractive design decision for the cooking area, which is the center of activity of the kitchen. Glass is easy to clean with any ammonia-based cleaner, or soap & water.
